I wanted very much to learn digital photography, but I didn't know if I would ever succeed. I hadn't taken any photography courses before and I had tried with very little success to introduce myself to computers. Even more discouraging was the fact that I had been reading several well regarded books over a period of about 6 months, and I still didn't understand enough about my camera to produce very good pictures. I am now glad to say your courses and workshops are changing all that. I learned more in my first 3 hours in the classroom than I had in the previous 3 months. Being able to see cameras from other people and listen to their questions helped tremendously. There are many items in my camera manual that I don't grasp and it was reassuring to learn so many others have the same experience. When I was trying to teach myself photography from books

If I were a camera it’s Peter’s neck I would want to hang around. No matter what I shot he was there to make sure I didn’t miss a thing.

Your introductory courses in digital photography were nothing but pure fun for me. This way of learning is much better than reading books. I’ve advanced so fast as a result of your lessons, in class exercises, home assignments etc. You have an ingenious way of passing on so much knowledge without overwhelming your students.  This combined with your ongoing support is invaluable to me.

Peter you have given me a renewed confidence to learn about the things I hate the most – gadgets. Your notes particularly are invaluable as they help me understand photography like few other books can.

I am a retired civil engineer and have come across many distinguished instructors in my time and your teaching style is phenomenal. If you taught a course in cement mixing I’d sign up because I’m sure you would find a way to make it interesting. You reminded me Peter that how we learn is just as important as what we learn.
